History and Position to Date
CJP Sales Ltd was established in 1985 as consultants to the PVC extrusion industry. Founded by Chris Pinchbeck, John Williams and Phil Turner. The business expanded to material distribution, as CJP became the small lot distributor for Polycol, later to become Atochem PVC Compounds. Shortly afterwards in 1989, Chris become sole owner of CJP, and with his many years experience in polymer distribution working at BP Chemicals, the company started forging it’s place in the UK market.
In 1985 British Vita starting compounding PVC at Middleton and in 1987 CJP started offering small lot Vitapol colours to the portfolio a relationship that continues today. In 1991 the range of polymers expanded to Styrenic, propylene and ethylene based products and by 1999 CJP had become the sole distributor for the British Vita Groups Vinyl compounds division Doeflex/Vitapol. This association introduced CJP to specialist Compounder JGP Perrite whose range of Vitamide Nylons and colour compounds are included in the current CJP Portfolio. In 1997 CJP also became a trading partner with Traghetto distributing a wide range of Thermoplastic Elastomers and at the same time were introduced to Colour Tone adding masterbatches to the rapidly growing range of materials. More recently, CJP Sales have been appointed as the sole distributor of DynaPurge®, a cost effective, non chemical purging agent used extensively worldwide.
After Chris’ retirement in April 1999 the Company is now owner/managed by his Daughter and Son-in-law, Nikki and Richard Benyon – continuing with the same values and business ethics that have proved so successful. Good people have come and gone over the years, all leaving a positive contribution to the building of CJP. Today a small, positive team of people form the backbone of the Company, successfully running CJP, and we continue to adapt our business to the ever-changing needs for today’s manufacturing market.
